I had the opportunity to work with the Walmart Living Design Team covering the Design libraries development, library updates, fixes and proposing new ideas. A task that I want to highlight here was the work I did creating a new set of icons for their delivery system.
After reading documentation, specifications, and understanding the need of the stakeholders I started to imagine how those new icons could look.
The better way to start creating, is using paper and pencil, making some sketches and let the ideas flow from your mind to your hand.
Iterations leads into a better result. Here you can see the process of each icon from the first proposal to the final one. “Delivery” and “Ship to Store” icons were aren't used.
